Jalapeno Pepper

What does an international couple with a small income and a desire to eat healthy have for dinner? If you want to find out you are in the right place.

Just some notes:

- Most of the time the recipes are meant for 2 to 3 persons.

- The ingredients are mostly expressed in Kg.

- If you see a (?) is because I don't know if that is the right word in English, or because I don't know the word in English and I wrote it in French, with a little luck it is the same in both languages.

Peke's Burger

700 pounds of beef for hamburger (what is the proper name to call it??)
2 cups of chopped fresh mushrooms
2 cups of chopped tomatoes
1 cup of lardon (chopped beacon)
1 avocado
1 cup of chopped onions
1 egg
1/2 cup of bread powder (?)
light gouda cheese
Bread for hamburgers

Fry the mushrooms, the onions and the lardon together (the lardon has a lot of fat, so you will not need extra oil)
Once everything is nicely fried add it to the meat along with the egg and the bread powder and mix well.
With this mixture make two hamburgers and fry them
Toast the bread with the rest of the juice left from the hamburgers.
Put the hamburgers in the bread, add the cheese the tomatoes and the avocado, as well as some ketchup... enjoy!

Carrots mess

3 cups of shredded carrots
2 cups of cooked Basmati rice
1/4 cup of low fat cream
1/2 cup of shredded cheese (of choice)
salt and pepper

Put the carrots in a glass pie mold mix the carrots with the cream and season with salt and pepper let this cook in the microwave for 8 minutes.
Take it out of the microwave and add the rice, mix it well, and lay evenly on the mold.
Turn on your oven grill.
Scatter your favorite cheese on top of the pie.
Grill until the cheese has melted... serve.

Flambe Bananas

3 bananas
2 tbsp. of butter
1 cup of apricot liquor
Vanilla ice-cream

Cut the bananas in thin slices
Melt the butter in the pan
Add the bananas and let them fry
Add the cup of liquor (careful if you use a gas stove like I do you might get some fire in your pan and that is the idea of a flambe so don't panic like I did just pull it away from anything that could catch fire)
Let the flame in the pan disappear.
Serve and add some ice-cream.

OK this is the first flambe I ever did, and I didn't know that it will catch fire nor that that was the idea, so I got really scared, now I think I could do it again. As for giving this dessert to children I wouldnt worry, the alcohol usually evaporates and there is really little left, on the other side my parents let me have desserts with alcohol and latter on drink a sip of wine in parties when I was a kid so I never felt the curiosity of getting drunk.
